Phoenix Mercury waive former Sun Devil star Promise Amukamara

After selecting her with the final pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft, the Phoenix Mercury officially announced Thursday that they have waived former Arizona State Sun Devil guard Promise Amukamara.

In two preseason contests with the Mercury, Amukamara played a total of eight minutes, scoring two points and grabbing three rebounds.
An alum of Glendale High School and the younger sister of New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, Promise Amukamara averaged 10.9 points and two assists in her final season with the Sun Devils, earning Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honors in 2014-15 after finishing sixth on Arizona State’s all-time steals list (209).
