The presence of new Arizona State men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley appears to have brought another highly sought recruit to the school, according to ESPN basketball insider Jeff Goodman.
Arizona State has landed Midland College athletic wing Maurice O'Field, sources told ESPN. Had previously committed to Hurley at Buffalo.

College Basketball Talk reports O’Field, a 6-foot-6 swingman, had already committed to Buffalo, Hurley’s previous school, back in March. Maryland, Marquette and Virginia Tech had reportedly made offers to him prior to his choosing Buffalo.
Shannon Evans, Buffalo’s second-leading scorer in 2014-15, followed right behind Hurley by transferring to ASU late in April. Evans will have to sit out the 2015-16 season because of the NCAA’s transfer rules.
O’Field becomes the second highly touted junior college player to land with the Sun Devils this spring. Combo forward Obinna Oleka reportedly signed a letter of intent with ASU late last month.
O’Field played in 28 games last season for Midland (Texas) College, averaging 15.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest while shooting 50.2 percent from the floor. The 215-pound swingman attended John Hay High School in Cleveland.
