Has free agent forward LaMarcus Aldridge narrowed his decision to two?

At this stage in the game, anything having to with LaMarcus Aldridge is worth noting.

After reportedly canceling a meeting with the New York Knicks Thursday, Aldridge organized face-to-face sit downs with officials from Miami, Portland and the Los Angeles Lakers, who were oddly granted a second meeting after reports suggested the Lakers were eliminated from the mix after an alleged less-than-stellar original meeting less than two days earlier.

Then there’s the latest volley from Arizona Sports 98.7 FM‘s John Gambadoro. Though he’s quick to note that nothing at this juncture is set in stone, the word on the street — according to Gambadoro — is that Aldridge has narrowed his unwieldly list of free agent suitors to two.

ESPN.com senior writer Ramona Shelburne also offered her breakdown of the Aldridge sweepstakes as they currently stand.

Of course, the Phoenix Suns appear to be doing everything they can to make sure Aldridge has a place on the roster.

On Thursday, the team dealt forwards Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger to the Detriot Pistons for a future second round draft pick in order to clear cap space for prospective signing of the 6-foot-11 scoring machine. This on the heels of reported deals earlier in the week involving guard Brandon Knight and center Tyson Chandler; two pieces that would only serve to entice a player of Aldridge’s caliber to come to Phoenix.
