BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer defeated Serbia’s Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 on Saturday, sending host Argentina back to the Davis Cup semifinals and keeping it on track for its first title.

Argentina will travel in September to Belgium, which defeated Canada 3-0 to make it to the semis for the first time since 1999.

Berlocq and Mayer dominated, and didn’t concede a single break point to the Serbs in the clay-court match.

Both captains made changes to their doubles team, as Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman and Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic were originally scheduled to play.

Mayer and Federico Delbonis gave Argentina a 2-0 lead by winning their singles on Friday. Mayer beat Filip Krajinovic, while Delbonis defeated Troicki from two sets down.

It is the eighth time in the last 10 years that Argentina has reached the final four. It made it at least to the semifinals from 2010-13 before being upset in the first round by Italy last year.

Argentina is one of only three teams that have played in more than one final without winning a title, along with Romania and India.

Serbia, without a tired Novak Djokovic, was trying to reach the semis for the first time since 2013.
