After watching his two quarterbacks struggle against the Tennessee Titans Thursday night, Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt isn’t ready to make a decision on the team’s starter.
“I got to look at this game and I’ve got to evaluate this and we’ll see,” Whisenhunt said. “We still have another game, another week of practice that we can look at, but I can’t answer that now until I look at it.”
Both John Skelton and Kevin Kolb made critical errors, including tossing three interceptions combined. While Whisenhunt said mistakes can be expected, the Cardinals can ill afford to have their starting quarterback making questionable throws.
“You got to factor that in when you’re making the evaluations of the guys because a lot of it depends on their decision-making,” Whisenhunt stated.
Despite the Cardinals’ sloppy performance, and another uninspired effort from their quarterbacks, Whisenhunt is taking away a positive from the loss.
“There is fight,” Whisenhunt said. “This was tough [Thursday] to turn the ball over five, six times like we did and still have a chance to win the game at the end, says a lot about the character of the team.
“Now what I told the guys after the game was if we can eliminate the mistakes, we’re a pretty good football team and that’s what our goal is.”
