Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Martin Prado left Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers after the third inning with blurred vision in his left eye, but said he hopes to be able to rejoin the team before Tuesday’s series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Prado said he woke up with blurred vision in the eye Sunday morning, and he will go to an eye doctor Monday morning before hopefully joining his teammates in St. Louis. Prado took two at-bats in Sunday’s 5-3 win over Los Angeles, but was removed after grounding out in the third inning.

“I was trying to see with my right eye, but I wasn’t recognizing anything,” Prado said. “Even fastballs. It wasn’t a good idea to keep playing like that.”

Prado said he hasn’t experienced something similar before, and he hopes that Monday’s visit to an eye doctor will “make sure that everything is just fine.”
