Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Chase Anderson wasn’t as highly touted as many of the rookies that took the mound before him, but he’s now accomplished something none of them had before.

Anderson on Wednesday became the first D-backs rookie starter to win each of his first three starts after allowing just one earned run in five innings in a 12-6 win over the San Diego Padres.

The 26-year-old has gotten 30 runs of support in his last two starts, but has turned in solid outings. He hasn’t tossed more than 5.1 innings, but has allowed just one earned run twice and touts a WHIP of 1.34.

Anderson made his major league debut on May 11 against the Chicago White Sox and thre 5.1 innings, allowing two hits and a run. He followed that up by allowing seven hits and five runs in 5.1 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers before Wednesday’s win over the Padres.
