Reno Aces sign outfielder Xavier Paul

The Reno Aces inked outfielder Xavier Paul to a minor league deal on Thursday.

The 29-year-old was playing for Triple-A Norfolk in the Baltimore Orioles farm system, hitting .254 with 12 home runs and 56 RBI before getting released on Aug. 3.

A Slidell, Louisiana native, Paul last saw time in the majors with Cincinnati in 2013 when he played in 97 games, hitting .244 with seven home runs and 32 RBI with the Reds.

A 2003 fourth-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Paul has hit .254 with 12 home runs and 71 RBI in five major league seasons.
