Warner throws to Fitz. Just don’t read into it

May 19, 2011, 7:17 PM | Updated: 8:28 pm

Larry Fitzgerald caught passes Thursday from a guy that would be everyone’s consensus pick to be the Arizona Cardinals quarterback in 2011. It wasn’t Kevin Kolb, Kyle Orton or even Marc Bulger. It was Kurt Warner.

Here is where most people would blow things out of proportion and start rumors of his return to the NFL as the Cardinals’ savior. Not us. We know better … thanks to Warner’s Twitter account.

Don’t get any ideas… But went & threw the fball today w/ @LarryFitzgerald & some of young guys… Haven’t done that since I retired!less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

Just because Kurt told us all not to read too much into his return to the football field, that didn’t stop current Cardinals from at the very least giving the former signal caller a hard time.

Fitzgerald, running back Beanie Wells and safety Kerry Rhodes made sure to tweet Warner and let him know it peaked their interest.

Kurt we got ideas! Lol RT @LarryFitzgerald: Hmm lol RT @kurt13warner: Don’t get any ideas.Threw the ball 2day w/ (cont) http://tl.gd/aij4seless than a minute ago via ÜberSocial Favorite Retweet Reply

In a perfect world Warner never would have left the Cardinals after the 2009 season and the team would have made the playoffs last year. Unfortunately in the real world he walked away to spend time with his family and to start a broadcasting career.

Would Warner coming back fix all the Cards problems? Probably. Too bad it won’t happen.

Regardless of if you told us not to get any ideas Kurt, we have and it looks like Fitzgerald, Beanie and Rhodes may have also. Too bad their nostalgic thoughts about how it use to be and how far the Cards have fallen in just one year. Not optimistic ones of you coming back.
