It’s no secret that newly-minted Hall of Fame inductee Randy Johnson is the most iconic Arizona Diamondbacks’ player of all-time.

Now, the organization will be paying their 6-foot-10 southpaw back.

The team announced details for Johnson’s jersey retirement ceremony, which will take place on Saturday at Chase Field when the gates open at 2:30 p.m.

The ceremony is expected to begin at 4:30 p.m., featuring guests in D-backs General Managing Partner Ken Kendrick, D-backs president and CEO Derrick Hall, former D-backs left fielder Luis Gonzalez, former Managing General Partner Jerry Colangelo and former general manager Joe Garagiola, Jr.

The team, headed by Kendrick and Hall, will present a special gift to the Hall of Famer, including the unveiling of the special No. 51 that will sit next to previously retired numbers Jackie Robinson (No. 42) and Gonzalez (20). There will also be a video montage with highlights from Johnson’s highlights and personal messages from teammates and fellow legends.

Arizona will wear No. 51 on their batting practice jerseys and a commemorative No. 51 patch on their jerseys on Saturday. The team will wear their traditional black jerseys for the game with the patch prominently featured. Game-used jerseys and equipment will be up for auction off online after the game.

Fifty-thousand fans will receive commemorative Randy Johnson No. 51 jersey retirement shirts when they arrive at the gates, which open at 2:30 p.m., and will have the opportunity to take photos with Johnson’s Hall of Fame plaque, the 2001 World Series trophy and his 1999 and 2002 National League Cy Young Award trophies.
