Venom Vision: D-backs among top teams in NL West

The Arizona Diamondbacks are among the top teams in the NL West largely because of what they’ve been able to do defensively. Through the first quarter of the 2013 season, the D-backs are ranked in the top 3 in all of baseball in fewest errors committed, fielding percentage and total chances. For a team that doesn’t rely on the strikeout, that’s an encouraging sign.
In this week’s Around the Diamond segment, Eric Chavez garners the spotlight. The 35-year-old looks rejuvenated in the Valley and has made an immense impact both with his bat and his glove. Also, for the second time since 2006, Chavez is on pace to play in over 100 games.
