The Phoenix Coyotes lost a member of their front office.
According to Chris Peters of CBSSports.com, assistant GM Brad Treliving is set to take over as the general manager for the Calgary Flames.
Treliving has been a hot name for open general manager jobs, reportedly interviewing for the opening in Boston. With the Capitals looking for a new GM, competition for the Flames was about to ramp up.
Treliving has been the assistant GM in Phoenix since July 18, 2007, and he worked closely with GM Don Maloney in running the team’s hockey operations.
According to the Coyotes’ website, Treliving was consulted on all team personnel decisions, and he also managed the amateur and pro scouting staffs while being responsible for personnel assignments with the team’s minor league affiliates.
