The Arizona Coyotes are going to party like it’s 1996.
The team announced Wednesday that on March 5, for its game against the Vancouver Canucks, the team will wear the black “Kachina” jerseys originally worn by the team from 1996 to 2003.
This will be the first time the Coyotes have ever worn a throwback jersey in an NHL game.
Also that night, former Coyote Jeremy Roenick will drop the puck, and 5,000 Roenick bobbleheads will be given out at the game.
Roenick was one of the original Coyotes, having played for the team from 1996 to 2001 and then again from 2006 to 2007.
