Reed experienced well-documented struggles in his appearances this season emerging from the D-backs’ bullpen, as the 26-year-old right-hander was demoted from his closer role in May and ultimately optioned to Triple-A Reno in June. However, since his return to the majors, Reed has boasted a 1.65 ERA with 14 strikeouts and no home runs allowed.
On the year, Reed has posted a 2-2 record with a 4.20 ERA in 38 appearances this season for Arizona.
