Fans running onto the field is a tried and true laugh in the internet age, but a new phenomenon, animals taking to the playing surface is slowing taking the limelight.
The latest case comes out of a El Paso, Texas where an adorable pup prolonged a game break by running the bases and escaping several attempts of capture at a minor league baseball game.
The El Paso Chihuahuas hosted the “fastest wiener in El Paso,” a dachshund race, Saturday night during an inning break in the game. Why the fantastically-named Chihuahuas weren’t hosting a chihuahua race is still a mystery but we digress.
The dog’s owner, umpires and even players tried to grab the little guy but he escaped all their attempts until a man known only as “Andy” was able to put a stop to the wiener dog madness.
