Infielder Phil Gosselin, who the Arizona Diamondbacks acquired in the trade that sent Bronson Arroyo and Touki Toussaint to Atlanta in June, is off the disabled list and on the D-backs 25-man roster, the team announced Monday.
Pitcher Kevin Munson has also been designated for assignment.
Gosselin, who had a fractured left thumb, was batting .325 in the 20 games he played for the Braves. He has played 14 rehab games in the Diamondbacks farm system where he went 18-for-57 with five doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI between stints with Triple-A Reno, Single-A Visalia and the rookie Arizona League.
To make room for Gosselin, pitcher Allen Webster was optioned to Reno.
Munson has had four starts and played in 35 games combined with Triple-A Reno, Double-A Mobile and the Arizona League this season. The 26-year-old has a 3.57 ERA and two saves for the season.
