J.J. Watt eats a lot of food in order to maintain his ridiculous physique. The 6’5″, 288-pound defensive lineman eats around 6,000-9,000 calories per day. Bacon-wrapped chicken, pancakes, and eggs are a part of the menu and one writer attempted to eat it all.

Watt has a breakfast, lunch, post-lunch, and dinner that packs in that massive calorie count. The breakfast is so large that Mandatory’s Christopher Hudspeth had to split it into two different breakfasts.

After feeling fairly confident post-breakfast, lunch is where Hudspeth started to hit a wall. A filling ham and turkey sandwich on wheat bread, with avocado, started to seriously fill him up alongside the ten eggs and other wheat items from breakfast. Combined with the writer’s disdain for broccoli, it did not look like it was going to end well.

The post-lunch pancakes and bacon-wrapped chicken breasts for dinner were barely consumed by the writer, even after attempting various activities to help such as stretching and breathing exercises.

While he did have high praise for the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts, the eight that Watt has for dinner was not even within the realm of possibility. That’s not even mentioning the additional pasta, fish and sweet potatoes that Watt includes in his dinner.

Despite Hudspeth’s failures, there’s no doubt about how well the diet works for Watt. The Houston Texans star began his 2015 season with nine tackles and two sacks.
