The Arizona Cardinals have had much success against the St. Louis Rams since 2007, going 12-4 against their NFC West division rival since the start of that season and sporting a 3-1 mark under head coach Bruce Arians.

Twice, they have earned victories against the Rams to clinch playoff berths during that span, with the first being in 2008 and the other coming in last season’s 12-6 win over the Rams in December.

Arizona has clearly had the Rams number in recent years and that has led to much individual success from players like Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson.

Fitzgerald has individual highs across the board against the Rams, totaling the most receptions (138), touchdowns (16) and team wins (15) against St. Louis than any other opponent. In fact, Fitzgerald’s 16 touchdown catches are more than any active player has against a single team during the regular season.

Also, the first of the eight-time Pro Bowler’s 932 catches also came against the Rams on the first snap of the wideout’s career. Fitzgerald hauled in a 37-yard pass from Josh McCown on a flea flicker.

Not to be outdone is Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, who has also had some memorable moments and strong numbers against the Rams.

In eight career games against against the Cardinals division opponent, Peterson has six interceptions and three touchdowns, including a 99-yard punt return to win a game in overtime during his rookie season. Last season alone saw Peterson record three picks and a touchdown against St. Louis.

The four-time Pro Bowler has also recorded 361 career punt return yards, which is more than double that of his next highest amount against an individual team.

If these are any indications for Sunday than that should mean very good things for the 3-0 Cardinals against the 1-2 Rams.
