Face it — there was a time early in the NFL season (about four weeks in, we’d say) where you thought the Arizona Cardinals were a shoo-in for a playoff spot. The Cards started 4-0 and the percentage of teams that qualifies for the postseason after winning their first four games is pretty high.
Well, we know how things turned out. The Cardinals dropped 11 of their last 12 games to finish 5-11, get their coach and GM fired, and wrapped up the seventh overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.
The Cardinals have many needs — a quarterback, offensive line help, a running back that can stay healthy and a bona fide pass rusher.
Everybody and their mother will put out a mock draft between now and April 25, and we here at Arizona Sports will do our best to keep you updated on all the projections of what the Cardinals will do with their pick.
**Note – some of the earlier mocks were crafted before the official draft order was established.
