Television personality Montel Williams was surfing his Facebook feed during the Monday Night Football matchup between the Cardinals and Ravens when something struck him in the wrong way.
Chris Johnson had handed a 12-year-old named Easton a football after the Arizona running back scored a first-half touchdown, but some adults around the boy knocked the ball away, took it for themselves and refused to do the right thing — give it back.
Montel took a screenshot of the Facebook post by Blaine Wiggins, then tagged Cardinals media relations employees in a tweet.
@AZCardinals just popped up in my Facebook feed… Can u guys do something for him? @AZ_Helm @ChrisRMelvin pic.twitter.com/ifapEdkpuq

It turned out the attention from Montel worked. According to Wiggins’ Facebook, Arizona noticed Montel’s tweet and responded by inviting Easton onto the field and giving him an autographed football.
Thx Cardinals! Truth be told this is why I do my own social media, this is why I’m here – this is what matters. pic.twitter.com/lOEjY0RUEs — Montel Williams (@Montel_Williams) October 27, 2015
And that is the power of social media.
At the time this post was published, Wiggins’ original Facebook post had accumulated 400-plus shares.
UPDATE:
The Cardinals were not quite done making things right, as Tuesday Johnson decided to get Easton another football.
