LeBron James hates sleeved jerseys … so he rips them

Nov 4, 2015, 7:13 PM

Nike pays LeBron James a lot of money.

So that’s important to know when, during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ game against the New York Knicks game on Wednesday, King James got so annoyed with his adidas jersey that he ripped the sleeves in the middle of the game.

Cleveland wore black, sleeved alternates for the nationally televised game. While the look is questionable to begin with, it’s clear that James is no fan of the sleeves that adidas debuted a few years back.

Adidas promised during the release that the sleeves wouldn’t hinder arm movement.

James apparently doesn’t agree, and this isn’t the first time he has publicly put down sleeves. With the Miami Heat two years ago, James complained about the fit of their alternates.

“I’m not making excuses, but I’m not a big fan of the jerseys,” James said, according to ESPN. “Every time I shoot it feels like it’s just pulling right up underneath my arm. I already don’t have much room for error on my jump shot. It’s definitely not a good thing.”

So that’s not helping adidas’ continued push to make sleeves a thing.

We can only hope Nike wrote a bonus in LeBron’s contract that pays him for publicly shaming a rival sports brand.
