Campbell, Cardinals motivated

Jun 30, 2011, 3:28 PM | Updated: 5:25 pm

While NFL players await the end of the lockout, Cardinals defensive tackle Calais Campbell is working hard and preparing for what may be a career year.

“I think this will be a great year for me,” Campbell said on Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf. “Physically, I’m in great shape. Mentally, I’m ready. I want to be one of the best players who has ever played the game. There’s a lot of motivation this year.”

Last season was arguably Campbell’s best as a professional, as he amassed 60 tackles and six sacks.

Some of Campbell’s goals for the upcoming season may be personal, but the 6-8, 300 pound defensive lineman is also focused on the team’s success.

“I want to win more than five games so that’s motivation right there,” Campbell said.
