Kolb has best chance of being the ‘guy’ for Cards

No one has the answer as to what the Arizona Cardinals will do for a quarterback once the NFL lockout is lifted. Sports 620 KTAR’s Ron Wolfley thinks he has a pretty good idea what should happen though.

“You don’t typically have twenty-six year olds that have started seven games who in three of those games they threw for well over 300-yards and twice were named NFC players of the week,” he said Thursday on Doug and Wolf. “You don’t have those guys just walking around out there. The reason being is because they are at a premium. Quarterbacks, young quarterbacks who can play, are at a premium in the National Football League.”

Hmm, 26, seven starts and two NFC player of the week awards? Sounds like Wolf has someone specific in mind who could fit what the Cardinals are looking for.

“Marc Bulger he’s got his own holes,” the host said. “Matt Hasselbeck everyone talks about, well he’s got a rickety and I do mean rickety back at 35-years of age. All these guys you can bring in as a free agent they have their problems as well. It’s about percentages. Kevin Kolb represents to me the highest percentage chance of being the ‘guy’ the Arizona Cardinals hope they can bring in here to play quarterback.”

What that percentage truly is, is anyone’s guess, but based on all the talk over the last three-plus months, it sounds like a lot think it will be high.

It sounds like the Cardinals front office likely agrees with his assessment. Now if only we knew what the price for Kolb really was, we’d be all set.
