As the price for Kolb rises, Cards should bow out

If the Arizona Cardinals want Kevin Kolb they will have to outbid the Seattle Seahawks.

Pete Carroll’s squad is rumored to be offering a first round pick and a second round pick for the Eagles backup. The Cardinals, thought to be the favorite to land the QB, would theoretically have to beat that offer.

“Am I the only one seeing this stuff and getting kind of freaked out that the lockout is going to end soon — which I’m glad — and the Arizona Cardinals might make a big mistake in going and getting Kevin Kolb as their quarterback,” Sports 620 KTAR’s Mark Asher asked on the Gambo and Ash show. “Am I the only one?”

No, Ash is not.

As the lockout has continued, the idea of Kolb, especially at the price he’s likely to command, has been a non-attractive one to many people.

After all, the guy has thrown 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in his career, and though he has not started many games, at 26 it’s a question of just how much more he has to offer.
