A partnership between the Arizona Diamondbacks and PetSmart will bring the joy of enjoying a game with your four-legged friend to Chase Field every Sunday this season.

The Phoenix-based pet supply chain and the team announced Monday that they will create the PetSmart Patio in left field that will allow fans with their dogs to view the game from a specialty designed seating area.

“We are seeing more and more establishments open up their facilities to pets – whether it’s coffee shops, retail stores, hotels or restaurants,” said Eran Cohen, chief customer experience officer with PetSmart, Inc. “PetSmart’s home office is based right here in Phoenix, and we are thrilled to partner with the D-backs, our hometown team, on this first-ever ballpark experience with a season-long, dedicated space so fans can enjoy a Sunday ball game with their best friends or even expand their families through pet adoption.”

The patio, located on the main concourse behind the left-center field wall will allow for an exclusive area complete with a grassy play area. It will feature multi-teared seating with an outdoor and indoor (air conditioned) dog park.

According to a press release, the outdoor park will feature a baseball theme complete with a baseball diamond and grassy outfield for dogs to explore, play with other dogs and a spot for them to do their business.

In addition, pets can enjoy concessions such as dog-friendly ice cream complete with toppings.

PetSmart will have its adoption spot where fans can possibly leave the ballpark with a ball and a new found friend looking for a new home.

“We are excited to create a unique dog-friendly area of our ballpark and can’t think of no better way than to partner with Phoenix-based PetSmart,” said D-backs president and chief executive officer, Derrick Hall. “Bark at the Park has always been a popular event at Chase Field, and now we are thrilled to offer fans the opportunity to bring their dogs to our games every Sunday to a new destination designed specifically for them.”

The first Dog Days of Summer Sunday will take place April 10 when the Diamondbacks host the Chicago Cubs.
