If Arizona State’ double-digit win against Stanford on Thursday night wasn’t enough to get back some basketball juju, then spending time with one of basketball’s biggest fans Friday might do it.
Film director Spike Lee dropped in to meet coach Bobby Hurley’s Sun Devils.
Both he and Hurley tweeted out a group photo. On Instagram, Lee said: “Great Meeting Arizona State University Basketball Bobby Hurley And His Squad,” while Hurley thanked the most well-known New York Knicks fan for sharing stories with the team.
Lee is probably an archive of hoops knowledge, but he’s also one of the most well-known for putting himself as a fan into the meaning of a game when he and Reggie Miller traded gestures during the 1994 NBA playoffs. As far as his work, Lee has displayed his passion for the sport with movies like He Got Game, which starred Denzel Washington and Ray Allen, and a documentary on Kobe Bryant, Kobe Doin’ Work.
What tidbits might he have given the Sun Devils that could help them as they close the regular season against Cal and then move on to the Pac-12 Tournament?
That’s hard to say. But we’re sure the basketball junkie dropped some good knowledge on the Sun Devils.
