ARIZONA CARDINALS

Cardinals have plenty to do, little time with which to do it

Jul 26, 2011, 6:21 PM | Updated: 7:35 pm

At 7:00 a.m. Arizona time Tuesday the Cardinals officially got to work on reshaping a roster that won just five games last season.

Roughly four hours later the Cardinals hadn’t made any noticeable progress, though that does not mean they haven’t been putting in work.

“It’s been a hectic day and a half so far, and it’s not slowing down right now,” head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “That’s a good thing because we’re all excited about our team and working to improve that and getting back to work.”

And work they have. Whether it is working to sign their own picks, their own free agents, other teams’ free agents or just make a trade, every option is on the table right now.

“The best way to say it is, whatever you can imagine, it’s probably worse,” Whisenhunt said of number of things to do. “There’s multitasking at its best, or at its most furious.

“There’s a lot going on.”

The Cardinals, like every other team in the NFL, are in a race against the clock to get a roster together before training camps begin. How they handle the time crunch will go a long way towards determining who has the most success this season.
