Are the Arizona Cardinals ‘sweating’ about a Kevin Kolb deal?

The Arizona Cardinals front office may be perspiration and it has nothing to do with the heat in the Valley. It may be over whether or not they’ll land Kevin Kolb.

Former Cardinal tight end Anthony Becht, who played for the team in 2009, thinks that the Eagles are sitting pretty when it comes to Kolb and that should concern his former team.

#Eagles #Seahawks don’t have a disadvantage here folks. They trade him they win, they keep him they win. #eagles in control. #cards sweatingless than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

There’s no denying that at this point options at quarterback are beginning to evaporate for the Cardinals. While head coach Ken Whisenhunt and the team’s front office claims they haven’t put all their eggs in the Kolb basket, the rest of the NFL has raided the pantry. The only options that remain are Kolb, Kyle Orton and Marc Bulger who would seem a long shot at best.

The reality is the Eagles don’t have to deal Kolb regardless of the market drying up. They can hold on to him and try to trade him during the season to a desperate team, keep him as a backup and franchise tag him at the end of the year or just simply let him walk. The Cardinals are the team in need.

If they aren’t truly settled on having Orton as their starting quarterback, they may be doing a lot more than sweating in the coming days.
