No timeline on hiring Erickson’s replacement

Nov 29, 2011, 1:07 AM | Updated: 1:09 am

Arizona State Vice President for University Athletics Lisa Love spoke about the new football coaching search that began when ASU fired head coach Dennis Erickson Monday.

“We’re not starting from the beginning or ground zero,” Love said. “But that is just a point of being in the job and always having a prepared group of people that you think you might want to talk to.”

Love announced that Erickson would not be back next season after finishing this season with four consecutive losses and a 6-6 record overall.

Erickson will coach the Sun Devils in their final bowl game of the season, and then his five year tenure will end.

How long it will take to replace Erickson has yet to be determined.

“There is not a time line on that but I will tell you that anyone sitting in my chair would always have thoughts along those lines,” Love said.
