One upon a time, the complete-game shutout was a pretty common occurrence in Major League Baseball.
In 1980 alone, there were 189 such pitching performances. By comparison, in 2015, there were only 51.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have played 2,982 regular-season baseball games since joining the big leagues in 1998.
Arizona has a total of 48 complete-game shutouts combined from 18 different pitchers.
That’s your Trivia Tuesday challenge this week — name all 18 D-backs’ pitchers that have blanked an opponent for nine innings.
You’ve got five minutes … have at it!
