With its first football game of 2014 set for Thursday at Sun Devil Stadium, Arizona State announced the creation of an innovative way to say thank you to those who have served our country.

On Friday, Sun Devil Athletics announced the establishment of an “Honor Row” for all six Sun Devil regular-season football games of 2014, in which 30 tickets per game will be donated to active or former members of the U.S. military.

“It is vitally important that we show an appreciation for the men and women who serve in our military, and it is imperative for our student-athletes to understand that their opportunity to chase their dreams would not be possible without the sacrifices made by the armed services,” said ASU head football coach Todd Graham.

The Honor Row, which will be wrapped in maroon and gold camouflage, will be located in the first row of Section 31 on Sun Devil Stadium’s east side.

ASU announced that Honor Row attendees will be recognized on the Sun Devil Stadium video board before the playing of the national anthem at each game.

ASU has plans to add Honor Rows for Sun Devil men’s and women’s basketball home games at Wells Fargo Arena, as well as home baseball games at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
