The latest college football national polls were released Sunday, and in a rare occurrence, the two major Arizona programs are ranked directly after one another.
The Arizona Wildcats moved all the way up to No. 10 in the AP Top 25 following their 5-0 start, but with their loss at home to USC on Saturday night, they fell to No. 16.
Coach Rich Rodriguez’s group also dropped to 17th in the Coaches’ Poll, four spots down from where they were heading into the USC matchup.
Arizona State, meanwhile, got a slight bump in the major polls, even with a bye week. The 4-1 Sun Devils moved up to 17th in the AP Top 25 (previously ranked 20th), and they climbed to 18th in the Coaches’ Poll — two spots higher than the week before.
The Wildcats have a bye next weekend before hitting the road to face Washington State (2-5, 1-3) on Saturday, Oct. 25.
ASU hosts Stanford (4-2, 2-1) next Saturday.
