On Friday, Arizona State University announced the hire of Scottie Graham, who was the director of player engagement since 2010 for the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), as one of its senior associate athletic directors.
Before his most recent position, Graham was a regional director for the NFLPA from 1998-2010. In his playing days (1992-1997), Graham was a running back for three different teams.
ASU says Graham will help student-athlete development in addition to helping with operations and program development with certain sports.
Graham’s hire continues the trend of ASU bringing former NFL execs into its athletic department.
Thursday, ASU announced David Cohen would be another senior associate athletic director. Cohen worked as the director of new stadium sales for the Minnesota Vikings’ new stadium project. His role at ASU lies in sports marketing and operations in certain Olympic sports.
Last month, ASU also hired Greg McElroy to be its associate vice president and chief business development officer. McElroy was the senior vice president for sales and marketing for the Dallas Cowboys.
