Bald Eagle picks freedom over attending Dodgers game

It’s the Fourth of July, which means Americans do things traditional-like.
That could mean burgers and beer, fireworks or a good ol’ baseball game with a very American bald eagle getting things super patriotic to start said baseball game.
The Los Angeles Dodgers thought they’d start their baseball game against the Baltimore Orioles by allowing a bald eagle to soar above the crowd, but it didn’t turn out great for the big bird’s trainer.
The eagle apparently decided to let freedom ring — away from Dodger Stadium. It made like a Yasiel Puig hit, blowing past its handler and over the outfield fence.
Happily, our bald eagles are fine + safely back at the Zoo. Although he missed his mark, Chinook waited by the van for his trainer

Diamondbacks fans would probably appreciate the eagle not wanting to attend a Dodgers game.

Here are a few videos of the eagle making its sudden exit from the pregame ceremony.
