The Northern Arizona Suns revealed their new court design on Thursday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Prescott Valley Event Center.
The team, which is the Phoenix Suns NBA Development League affiliate, relocated to Prescott Valley after the Suns purchased it, and will begin play this fall.
The court, which was manufactured by Connor Sports in Amasa, Michigan, was the same court used in the 2016 NCAA Men’s Tournament in Anaheim, California. Following the tournament, the court was sanded, stained and repainted over the course of several weeks to be prepared for use by the NAZ Suns.
The new court will be a tribute to the Prescott area and features the words, “Northern Arizona” in orange along each baseline and along the dark purple apron surrounding the court. The NAZ Suns’ primary logo which resembles the sunburst from the Phoneix Suns’ original logo is featured at center court.
The Northern Arizona Suns will play a total of 24 home games at the Prescott Valley Event Center as part of a 22-team league.
