Well, they don’t have these jerseys for sale.
Days after Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale was suspended after he reportedly shredded his team’s throwback jerseys rather than play in the apparently uncomfortable threads, a fan responded perfectly.
That’s a taped up Sale jersey being worn Monday at the White Sox game against the rival Cubs.
Sale, for what it’s worth, spoke to the media on Monday about his five-game suspension.
The All-Star confirmed the reports that he grew upset on Saturday that the collared 1976 throwbacks the Sox were scheduled to wear would impede his effectiveness on the mound.
“[The ’76 uniforms] are uncomfortable and unorthodox. I didn’t want to go out there and not be at the top of my game in every aspect that I need to be in. Not only that, but I didn’t want anything to alter my mechanics. … There’s a lot of different things that went into it. Looking bad had absolutely zero to do with it. Nothing.”
The team eventually ended up wearing 1983 throwbacks during his planned start on Saturday.
