There’s been quite a few wacky injuries to professional athletes over the years.
From on-the-field celebrations gone wrong, to Chicago Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa injuring his back while sneezing, all the way to Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson breaking his arm trying to save his pizza from falling, there are no shortages of weird injuries to players.
Apparently the unusual injuries happen to front office members too.
Washington Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan had his left hand wrapped when he got to training camp Friday. The reason? McCloughan injured his hand when he got the team’s…injury report.
Former Redskins tight end Chris Cooley joined ESPN 980 and said that a team doctor called McCloughan to share injury news about first-round draft pick Josh Doctson.
McCloughan feared the injury to be serious and took out his anger by punching a wall.
Doctson’s injury ended up not being as bad as initially feared, so at training camp they were able to have a laugh about it, with McCloughan jokingly blaming Doctson for his hurt hand by saying, “It’s this guy’s fault.”
