Cardinals’ Bidwill says team working to get to the top

Even though the NFL is currently in the midst of a work stoppage, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Arizona Cardinals are going about the offseason any different.
The process of going through free agency and putting players through offseason workouts isn’t happening but the plan of getting out of the NFC West cellar is being worked on daily.
A video was released on Monday, “All in: 2011 Offseason Plan,” where Cardinals Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt, General Manager Rod Graves and Team President Michael Bidwill talk about how they plan on improving the Cardinals for the upcoming season, without going too much into detail of course.
It’s been awhile since we heard from Bidwill.
In the video he talks about how it felt to not be a part of the playoffs this past season.
“I tell you what, this year in January sitting at home and watching all the playoffs being played and then going to Dallas and watching the Steelers get back to the Super Bowl, it was frustrating,” Bidwill says. “We need to get back to the Super Bowl, we need to get back to postseason play. We are going to take all the steps necessary to get back there.”
From a fan’s point of view, you can’t ask for more than that from a team president, especially one who rarely speaks and likes to keep himself out of the spotlight.
And with the lockout going do you think the organization is sitting around waiting to see what happens and if indeed there will actually be a season in 2011?
If you think that is happening even to the slightest degree you would be wrong.
Bidwill talks about the team being on the daily grind to put a better product on the field in 2011.
Earlier this month we found out he was along for the ride — actually flying the plane — when the team brass met and worked out NFL prospect Blaine Gabbert.
“Pretty much everyday, this offseason, all we are thinking about is getting back to the top, getting back to winning the NFC West, getting back to that tradition of winning games those games at the University of Phoenix Stadium,” Bidwill said in talking about the plan of the Cardinals. “That’s what we’re focused on from top to bottom in this organization. We’re focused and we’ll get it done.”
