ASU’s Carson on Team USA

Jun 23, 2011, 4:38 PM | Updated: 5:44 pm

The USA Basketball U19 World Championship team announced their 12-man roster on Thursday.

The team will travel to Lithuania to defend the gold medal won in 2009.

Arizona State recruit Jahii Carson was the youngest player to be named to the team and is the only player on the squad with no collegiate experience.

As a senior at Mesa High School, the 5-11 Carson averaged 32 points per game.

Carson will be the first ASU player to play for the USA since Ike Diogu in 2003.

Stanford’s Anthony Brown was the only other Pac-12 player to be named to the team.
