After a hospital trip earlier in the week due to diverticulitis, Bruce Arians is expected to “coach as usual” against the San Diego Chargers Friday night.
That’s according to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, per a team spokesman.

Arians was diagnosed with diverticulitis after going to the hospital Tuesday night and missing a joint practice with the Chargers. Wednesday morning he was resting at the team hotel before meeting with the media.
“Just a bunch of stomach pain and doubled over, which is what it does to you,” Arians said of what transpired Tuesday night. “I thought it was a kidney stone at first, but I’ve been diagnosed with diverticuli at my last colonoscopy. Good thing I do those every two years.”
The team addressed the issue Wednesday, looking at the situation as more adversity for them to overcome.
“As much as it stinks and as hard as it is, it’s just another obstacle to get over,” quarterback Carson Palmer said. “It’s good in that aspect that you’ve got to deal with adversity.
“You don’t know what’s going to happen — an injury happens to a player, an injury happens to a coach — you’ve got to block out and focus on the task at hand and each play by play. It’s good to have some opportunities where you lose a guy and somebody’s got to step up for them.”
