Trivia Tuesday: U.S. Men’s Basketball Olympic Team members

In 1988, the United States sent a team of collegiate All-Stars to represent the country in the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.

The team, coached by Georgetown’s John Thompson and led by Kansas’ Danny Manning and Central Michigan’s Dan Majerle, went 7-1 but managed only a bronze medal. It was the first time Team USA didn’t win a gold medal since the 1972 squad was hosed by some fishy officiating in the closing minutes of a loss to the Soviet Union in the championship game.

As a result, USA Basketball increased its efforts to have professionals represent the country in future international competitions. The “Dream Team” was born, and since 1992, the U.S. has sent teams comprised of almost entirely pro athletes to play in the games.

That’s your Trivia Tuesday challenge this week … to remember all 66 players to wear the red, white and blue in Olympic men’s basketball competition since 1992. You’ve got 12 minutes.

Hint: The players are listed in alphabetical order by their last names — that should help with context.

Good luck.
