We’ve found one player who’s not Yasiel Puig’s friend.
That’d be San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner, who appeared irked after pitching to the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder during a their game Monday.
So what did Puig do to upset the pitcher? He looked at him after being told not to.
That’s per the call of legendary broadcaster Vin Scully, who got a shoving match to call during his final week on the job.
The result of Puig making eye contact with Bumgarner was a benches-clearing incident between the Dodgers and the Giants, the second time in the last few days Los Angeles has gotten in a subdued skirmish.
Four days prior, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley got under L.A. pitcher Rich Hill’s skin when he threw an inside pitch on a bunt attempt.
This time around, it appeared that Bumgarner was the one who got hot. Puig, in reaction, wondering what exactly the pitcher wanted to do for the indiscretion of letting his eyes wander in the pitcher’s direction.
Puig will look at what Puig pleases.
