After 67 years, Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully called his final game behind the mic at Dodger Stadium on Sunday.
The 88-year-old baseball broadcasting legend announced last year that this season would be his last. On Sunday Dodgers players had their last chance to pay their respects to Scully during the team’s final home game of the season.
With a simple tip of the cap during their first at-bat against the Colorado Rockies, Dodgers players saluted the voice that has called Dodgers games dating back to Brooklyn and has helped bridge generations of baseball fans.
It was a tribute that even Scully himself was moved.

Of course, Scully, humble as always, doesn’t like the attention like that has been given to him all season long, instead he wants the focus on the game.
"…today is not about me. The Dodgers have a chance to clinch!"
