Chris Johnson begins long road back for Cardinals

A day after having surgery on his injured groin, Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson appears ready to tackle the new challenge of rehab.

Johnson tweeted out a pair of videos on Friday showing the beginnings of his rehabilitation process.

 

Johnson injured his groin during the Cardinals’ 17-13 loss Sunday to the Los Angeles Rams. The team placed him on injured reserve Tuesday.

Through four games this season, Johnson rushed for 95 yards on 25 carries and had one touchdown. For his career, the 31-year-old running back has 9,537 total rushing yards on 2,118 attempts and 55 touchdowns.

He began his career with the Tennessee Titans in 2008, where he played for six seasons before moving to the New York Jets in 2014. The Cardinals signed him in 2015 where he went on to play in 11 games with nine of those games being starts. He led the team with 814 rushing yards on 196 carries and scored three touchdowns.
