Devin Booker has some high standards to meet after having one of the best rookie seasons in Phoenix Suns franchise history, and he’s off to a good start.
The 19-year-old shooting guard didn’t even have to wait until the regular season to show that he’s back and better than ever.
Booker erupted for 34 points in 30 minutes in a 115-110 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in preseason action.
Booker was fearless attacking the rim.

The most impressive aspect of Booker’s showing, however, was a tighter handle and attack from the midrange.

Booker’s 34-point performance comes off recently being named the starting shooting guard going forward over Brandon Knight at the start of the preseason. Booker ended the game on 15-of-23 shooting with three rebounds, five assists and three steals, not making an appearance in the fourth quarter.
Rookie power forward Marquese Chriss also impressed, putting on a display of high-powered dunks and moves in the post.
