ASU kicker Zane Gonzalez has been named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week for the fourth consecutive week.

Gonzalez accounted for ten points with field goals of 51, 50 and 59 as well as one extra point in ASU’s 40-16 loss to the Colorado Buffaloes.

The senior kicker is the only player in Sun Devil history to receive four Pac-12 Player of the Week honors, as kicker Thomas Weber had three in 2007. He is tied with California kicker Doug Brien (1991) as the only four-time Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week winners in one season.

With his 59-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, Gonzalez took sole ownership of the FBS record for most points by a kicker with 468, surpassing Florida State’s Dustin Hopkins (466). The record-setting kick was the longest field goal in school and Folsom Field history, and he also tied the record for most 50-yard field goals in a game with three.

Gonzalez now owns four of the eight longest kicks in ASU history. He also broke Luis Zendejas’ school record of consecutive games with a point scored, with 46.

The Sun Devils (5-2, 2-2) will play the Washington State Cougars (4-2, 3-0) on Saturday in Tempe at 7 p.m.
