ASU, Cubs fans direct venom at the wrong Mike Leach

Former Arizona Cardinals long snapper Mike Leach’s Twitter bio says it all:

“I see things upside down, yet somehow it all makes sense.”

So when people on Twitter started calling him out for his coaching practices, especially a run-in with Arizona State coach Todd Graham — wait what?

Opps, sorry. Wrong Mike Leach.

Apparently, angry Sun Devils fans have been tagging Leach, @MikeLeach82 on Twitter, with comments after Saturday’s 37-32 loss instead of tagging Washington State coach Mike Leach, @Coach_Leach.

The former Cardinals long snapper tweeted this after someone told him that his karma is coming to get him.

Then there’s this tweet he made after someone apologized for tagging the wrong person, saying thanks for teaching a PR student a lesson in tagging the wrong person.

But it wasn’t just ASU fans that were angry at the wrong Leach. Chicago Cubs fans started tagging him in tweets after the other Leach called out Cubs fans on Monday.

“There are some teams — the Cubs are one of them — where there is just too many Cubs fans. And they’re one of those teams that for whatever reason, I guess it’s because people like the way their uniforms look or something, that every yuppie with a BMW or with some special attachment to his computer or some designer set of jeans or something like that is a Cubs fan and refers to them as ‘my Cubbies.’ And any time you say ‘my’ before your team, well, then that’s dubious. OK? And ‘my this, my that.’ Come on, now. So you get my Cubbies. You don’t get my Indians. You get ‘my Cubbies,’ OK? And I think there are too many out-of-the-woodwork people that like them that like them because they like the uniforms. Don’t know the first thing about baseball. Probably have never even attended a Cubs game, but that’s just going to be their team so they have something to talk about over the coffee machine and the cooler. So as a result I’m going against the whole wave of probably seven-eighths of America, I want the Indians. Me and the city of Cleveland.”

Naturally, the long-snapper Leach responded in kind to angry, mistaken Cubs’ fans.

Leach is certainly seeing things on the upside down and making sense of it all.
