Everyone expected the 2016-17 Phoenix Suns to experience growing pains this season.
After all, the Suns boast one of the youngest rosters in the league. In fact, during the second half of their season-opening 113-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings Wednesday night, they had three teenagers (Devin Booker, Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender) on the court together. The youngsters provided a spark, but it wasn’t enough to pull out a win against the Kings.
To make matters worse, the Sacramento Kings official Twitter account poured salt in the social media wound after the game with one very simple Photoshop job. It was in response to a Suns tweet from a week ago.

The Kings, to their credit, saw an opportunity.

Ouch.
The Kings took the first meeting of the season in convincing fashion, yes. But, there are three meetings between the teams left this season.
Oh, and after the loss, the Suns didn’t have to go home to Sacramento, so there’s that.
