The legend of David Johnson continues to grow.
Wednesday, the second-year running back was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 31-23 win over the Washington Redskins at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Johnson amassed 175 yards from scrimmage against Washington, rolling up 84 on the ground and 91 more through the air. He also scored two touchdowns, bringing his season total to 15.
The former Northern Iowa Panther has 28 touchdowns in 28 career NFL games.
This marks the second time Johnson has won the weekly award this season. He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following a 33-21 win over San Francisco Oct. 6. In that game, Johnson ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries while adding three catches for 28 yards. He’s the first Cardinals player to win two weekly awards in the same season since Kurt Warner did it in 2009.
He also was the conference’s Offensive Player of the Month for October.
