The Seattle Seahawks are dominant on their home turf at CenturyLink Field. Most of the time, that is.

In the last four seasons, the Seahawks are 30-6 at home, including the postseason. Half of those losses have come to the Arizona Cardinals.

Bruce Arians’ teams got their third win in the last four seasons at CenturyLink Saturday with a stirring 34-31 win capped by Chandler Catanzaro’s 43-yard field goal as time expired. The loss crippled Seattle’s chances at earning a top-two seed in the NFC Playoffs and a first-round bye.

All week leading up to the game, we kept you updated on Seattle’s prep for the Cardinals. Now, we’ll take a look at what they’re saying in the Emerald City about the Seahawks’ latest loss to Arizona.

It’s Opponent Aftermath…

It’s clear Seahawks are missing their magic after crushing loss to Cardinals (Seattle Times)

The Seahawks have lost several key players that aren’t going to return this season. But it’s the absence of the magic that has doomed them so far.

So much for an undefeated home season. Instead, the Seahawks got a shot to the heart and a punch to the gut in a stunning 34-31 loss to Arizona Saturday, decided on a 43-yard field goal by Chandler Catanzaro as time ran out.

For Seahawks fans disappointed with their team’s effort in a 34-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, there’s good news: You might get to see them play at home again a week earlier than expected.

OK, that’s not such great news either.

After the Seattle Seahawks’ 34-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, coach Pete Carroll was asked about his team’s inability to show any kind of consistency in recent weeks.

“I don’t know,” Carroll said. “I keep thinking we’re going to do right, we’re going to do well.”

The Seahawks knew going into their final two regular-season games that if they just took care of business against a pair of teams that were a combined 6-21-1, they would have a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Seahawks’ comeback bid fell short, but it shouldn’t be overlooked (MyNorthwest.com)

Because as much as the Seahawks looked like they flat-lined with about 5 minutes left in Saturday’s home finale against Arizona, they did more than just show a pulse at the finish. They inspired a little bit of hope by scoring two late touchdowns and coming within a missed extra point of taking the lead before losing on the final play of the game.

With the issues the Seahawks have had with their place-kicking this season – before, including and since Stephen Hauschka’s missed field goal at the end of their first meeting with Arizona – it seemed like it may only be a matter of time before another miscue would cost them with a game on the line.
